In the present education system (both online and offline), accreditation is a pre requisite for the recognition and acceptability of the diploma, diploma or certification. The level of autonomy that each region or country provides to institutions for accreditation varies across the globe. However, there are international as well as regional accreditation agencies which accredit universities for their authenticity and credibility.

To understand the advantages of MUST High School’s international accreditation one needs to understand the difference between regional and international accreditation agencies.

Regional accreditation refers to the process by which one of several accrediting bodies, each serving a defined geographic area of the country, accredits colleges, universities, and schools. Each region accredits or encompasses the existing public and nonprofit private online educational institutions in the region it serves, but, regional bodies only accredit schools and universities and do not accredit individual programs/certifications within a school or high school.

International Accreditation refers to the process by which an accreditation body can accredit universities (both offline and online) irrespective of the region it exists in. International Accreditation has no territorial restrictions; its accreditation is valid anywhere in the world. International Accreditation accredits individual program/certifications as well as schools and universities.

Keeping MUST High School in perspective, the two basic advantages that their diplomas offer are:

A. The Quality of Education is Superior:

In case of regional accreditation regional standards and best practices are followed to ensure quality and standard, whereas, MUST High School’s diploma which is internationally accredited, global best practices are applied to determine quality and standard. Even a layman can figure out that global best practices are more stringent and meticulous.

B. It is Globally recognized: The global acceptability and recognition of MUST High School’s diploma broaden the horizons of out reach for applicants and they are eligible for jobs and employments anywhere in the world, whereas, regional accreditation restricts the validity of diplomas to the regions or country they are operating in creating bindings for the applicants to look for employment within those countries or specific regions. In case the applicant has to move to another region or country (which is very common), he does not require any additional certification for the diploma of MUST High School to be deemed valid.

MUST High School is a leading online education provider offering education in 16 schools and a choice of 71 majors within these schools completely online, so that students can complete their education no matter where they may be living, without requiring to relocate.

MUST High School has been accredited by the International Accreditation Organization (IAO), among the leading institutions granting global accreditation to online educational institutions. This is a move away from regional and national accreditation towards global accreditation. Being granted global accreditation simply means that the education imparted by MUST High School meets the minimum standards required by a global accreditation awarding body which in turn means that the education is appropriate for international students coming from any and all corners of the world.

A further note on global accreditation and why it is so important. In the past, accreditation has traditionally been always either regional or national. Both these levels of accreditation, however, are only applicable for High Schools which are “located” somewhere and whose student body primarily comprises individuals from a particular locality (even though there may be some international students present). The education received from such an institution primarily focuses on the locality or country in which it is based, barring a few courses designated as such, and regardless of the strength of the international student population.

In contrast, online High Schools such as MUST are not restricted to one particular corner of the world. Because they operate over the Internet – which is by definition not restricted to a particular country – these High Schools too do not restrict their curriculum to the needs of a particular country.

Rather they strive to structure their programs and courses in a way that they are better suited to the needs of a global audience. For this reason, MUST will strive for global accreditation, since its programs and student body are “global”.

y daughter is an educationist and only recently she taught me something new. Something I never knew in my twenty years of experience in the sphere of academia. She educated me on the topic of international accreditation.

She talked about online high schools and predominantly about MUST High School. Being closely involved with academia, the first question I had in my mind was that of accreditation. From experience, I know that accreditation is what makes or breaks a high school and obviously I was inquisitive.

MUST is fully accredited by the International Accreditation Organization (IAO), one of the leading bodies that offer international accreditation to online institutions.

This shook some of the basic understanding I had gathered over the years regarding accreditation. In my time there was only national and regional accreditation. Yet, as she went on, I learnt that a new concept was emerging – that of international accreditation. This is what online high schools strive for. For them, national and regional accreditation is an obsolete idea. Why I even asked so in the first place?

If you operate on a national or regional level, only then would you need national or regional level accreditation, don’t you think? If you are global, why would you want to restrict yourself? Common sense isn’t it.

So you see, it is never too late to learn something new.
